A real low season
Winter brings fewer guests than summer. Plan ahead: save cash in the busy months and keep your costs under control when the snow falls.
Spend smart in December
Marketing campaigns bring extra travellers to town. Time them for when you need guests the most.
Winter-friendly facilities
Restaurants and bars keep earning from walk-ins from town even when rooms are quiet. A ski resort is the dream for the biggest hotels.
Don’t let the bank in
Spend too much and you fall into debt: interest, unpaid staff and, after a week, the bank starts seizing rooms.
Beat your rivals
Rival hotels suffer in winter too. A strong hotel can take market share while they struggle.
Free, in your browser
No download and no sign-up needed to start. A cosy tycoon game for the holidays, on PC or phone.
How to get your hotel through winter
Seasons change as the days pass. Winter is the hardest stretch of the year — here is how good players handle it:
- Build a cash reserve before winter: aim for at least a few weeks of costs.
- Check the Finance tab: payroll and upkeep do not shrink in winter, so make sure every role is earning its place — but keep your core team.
- Run a marketing campaign when occupancy dips instead of cutting prices too far.
- Facilities like a restaurant or bar earn from people in town, not just hotel guests.
